JACKSON, Miss. - NAIA No. 13 Trevecca (8-4)lost their second game in a row at theCoaches vs. Cancer Classic. Host and #RV Belhaven University Blazers (10-1) won 84-73.
 
The host Blazers led 16-12 when the Trojans scored 11 straight to take a 23-16 lead at the 6:00 minute mark. The Blazers, coached by former LipscombCollege standout Tom Kelsey, surged ahead with a 7-0 run. BU led 34-27 at the half.
 
The Blazers scored the first basket of the second hald and led 36-27 when the Trojans began to rally. Trevecca used a 8-1 run to make it a two point game (37-35) with 17:14 to go in the game. The Blazers led 39-37 and put the game out of range with a 18-2 run. The run game BU a 57-39 lead with 10:17 to go. The Blazers lead was 22 (80-58) with 2:34 to go. Trevecca did cut the lead to nine points on a couple of occassions, but couldn't close the gap any further before the clock expired and lost 84-73.
 
Trevecca had four players with double-figure scoring. Keith Morris led the way with 16 points. Matthew Elliott (14), JP Nyadaro (13), and Camden Jordan (11) also reached double figures. Morris added a team-high seven rebounds. Elliott led the team with five assists.
 
The team shot a season low 37% (25-67) from the field. Trevecca also struggled from long distance shooting 28% (7-25) from three-point range and hit just 57% (16-28) from the foul line. Trevecca ranks No. 2 in the NAIA in three-point percentage and No. 15 in field goal percentage.

The Trojans won't suit up again until January 7, 2010 when they host Mid-Continent University at 8 p.m.
