MCKENZIE, Tenn. - No. 14 Trevecca (11-4, 3-0) defeated Bethel University (8-8, 0-2) 83-80 in double overtime. It was the 17th consecutive win for the Trojans in the series. Trevecca leads the all-time series 45-30. Trevecca has played Bethel more times than any other opponent except Freed-Hardeman who the Trojans have played 78 times.

Bethel took a 7-2 lead, but Trevecca had a 12-0 run to take a 14-7 lead. Trevecca and Bethel battled hard and TNU led 27-25 at the break. Trevecca pulled away for two 11-point leads in the second half, but saw the Wildcats tie the game at 66 to send the game to overtime. The teams battled in the first overtime, but neither could pull away and end the first overtime tied at 74. Trevecca was able to get some distance and held on to win 83-80 in the second overtime.

Matthew Elliott led Trevecca with 28 points after hitting 4-6 from 3-point range. Marquise Rudolph added 20 points and Keith Morris added 13. Jeremy Dixon and Rudolph led the team with seven rebounds apiece. Morris also had six rebounds. Elliott had a team-high five assists. Morris and Rudolph had three steals each.

As a team Trevecca hit 29-70 (41%) from the field, 7-17 (41%) from 3-point range, and 18-28 (64%) from the foul line.
 
The Trojans return to action Saturday afternoon at 4 pm as they play host to Cumberland at Moore Gym.
