NASHVILLE, Tenn. - No. 16 Trevecca (12-4, 5-0 TSAC) shot 60% in the 2nd half and overcame a 15-point deficit to win going away, 82-57, over No. 6 Freed-Hardeman (13-3, 1-2 TSAC) Monday night at Moore Gym. The win keeps the Lady Trojans tied atop the TSAC standings with No. 1 Union, also a winner Monday night, 101-44 over Mid-Continent.

Trevecca has won three of the last four games with Freed-Hardeman and are 5-4 against the Lions in the last nine meetings. .

The Lady Trojans scored the first points of the game on a 3-pointer by Chelsey Taylor, but Freed-Hardeman proceeded to score seven straight points to seize the lead, which they maintained for much of the 1st half. The lead ballooned to as much as 15 points, at 37-22, before the Trojans went on a 17-2 run to finish the half, sending the teams to the locker room tied at 39. The Trojans continued to put on the pressure, scoring the first nine points of the 2nd half to take control of the game at 48-39. That completed a 19-0 run spanning the halftime break that turned a 10-point deficit into a nine point Trojan lead that they would never relinquish.  

Trevecca made 18 of 30 (60%) shots in the 2nd half, and outscored the Lady Lions 43-18 after halftime. For the game, the Lady Trojans shot 51% (31-61), including 10-21 (48%) from 3-point range, and made all 10 of their free throws. Conversely, after shooting 50% (16-32) in the 1st half, Freed-Hardeman shot only 21% (6-28) in the 2nd half, to finish the game at 37% (22-60). 

K.C. Van Atta led the way for Trevecca with 20 points, and added nine rebounds, six assists, seven blocked shots, and four steals. Paige McFarlin added 19 points and seven rebounds, while Abby Lawson chipped in 12 points, along with five rebounds and three assists.  Jana Cross led the Lady Lions with 13 points and nine rebounds. 

The Lady Trojans return to action Thursday night at Lyon (12-5, 2-2 TSAC). Game time from Becknell Gymnasium in Batesville, Ark. is 6 p.m.
