NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca women's soccer coach Brett Armstrong has signed Rachel Mayes of Father Ryan High School.
The 5-8 midfielder played for Fighting Irish head coach Robin Dietrich at Father Ryan and Obed Compean with the Metros Soccer Club.
Coach Armstrong say he's getting a strong player, "Rachel is a fantastic player that is athletic, skilled and plays with tremendous passion for the game. She was a key part of Father Ryan's State Championship run and their success over the past four years. She can score goals or control the midfield. She's an excellent student as well and we expect that she will be a special player here at TNU and a great addition to the Trevecca family."
Mayes was named All-State; All-District; All-Midstate; 2009 Tennessean "Player to Watch"; 2008 State Champion (Father Ryan); Tennessee State high school All-Star Team.
