BATESVILLE, Ark. - NAIA No. 16 Trevecca (13-4, 6-0) placed three players in double figures and survived a very physical game in which neither team shot particularly well, getting a big TSAC road win, 56-48 last night at Lyon College (12-6, 2-3). The teams combined for 33 fouls and just 3-35 three-point shooting, but the Trojans were able to pull out the win with some clutch free-throw shooting down the stretch.

The Lady Trojans jumped out to a 25-14 lead in the first half, before the Pipers went on a 10-2 run to finish the half and close the gap to 27-24 at the break.

The game went back and forth for most of the second half, before the Trojans scored seven straight points midway through the half to pull out to a 46-39 lead. From there, it became a parade to the free throw line, and the Trojans were able to finish off the victory. The teams combined to shoot 42 free throws, with the Trojans outscoring Lyon 16-9 from the charity stripe.

Christian Gibson led all scorers with 15 points, including 7-8 from the free throw line, and added four rebounds and three steals. Abby Lawson chipped in with 13 points and five rebounds, while Paige McFarlin contributed 10 points and seven rebounds. Suzanne Finchum led the Pipers with 11 points.

The Lady Trojans are off until Monday, when they travel across town to face Fisk at 6 p.m.
