NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca Nazarene University softball coach Ben Tyree has concluded his 2010 softball signing class with the addition of Anais Puertas.

The five-foot-eight junior transfer played for Southeastern (Iowa) Community College the last two years. Rojas can play in the infield or outfield.

"Anais is a great addition to our 2010 squad," said Tyree. "She brings so much energy and experience with her two years of play in Iowa and being part of the Venezuelan National Team. She is one of those student athletes that want to excel both on the field and in the classroom."

Puertas, a member of the 2009 Venezuelan National Team, was a two-time member Iowa Community College Athletics All-Conference Team while making the NJCAA Division 1 All-Region Team. SECC qualified for the JC National Tournament in 2009.

While with the Venezuela National Team she participated in the Pan Am Games and the Canada Cup.

Puertas, a native of Estado Carabobo, Venezuela, is the seventh Trevecca signee for the 2010 season.
