MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Trevecca (2-5), receiving votes for the preseason NAIA Baseball Top 25, split Saturday's double-header with NAIA No. 23 Auburn-Montgomery (7-6) 2-1, 9-12 today. In doing so, the Trojans took two of the three games in the weekend series.
 
Each team scored a run in the seventh inning, but Trevecca scored the game winner in the top of the ninth. Edwin Borbon was 2-1 with a run scored and two walks. Zack Sutton got the game winning RBI with two out in the top of the ninth.

Michael Son started the first game and allowed just four hits and two walks over 5.2 innings of work. Son had one strike out. Caleb Longshore (1-0) finihed the game and allowed three hits, one run, and struck out two over 3.1 innings. Trevecca had eight hits and no errors. The Senators had seven hits and an error.

In the second game Trevecca scored two in the top of the first, but AUM took the lead with three in their half of the inning. TNU tied it with a run in the third. AUM answered again, with three in the bottom of the third for a 6-3 lead. Trevecca surged ahead 9-6 with a six-run fourth inning. AUM replied in kind with their own six-run inning in the fifth for the 12-9 win.

Blake Payton (0-1) took the loss in relief for Trevecca. Kyle Pfirrman started and lasted just three innings. The junior allowed nine hits, six runs (all earned), and had a walk and strike out. Payton pitched just the fourth inning, allowing six runs with five hits and a walk. Jerry Young pitched the final two innings allowing two hits and a walk with a strike out.

For Trevecca Edwin Borbon was 1-3 with two runs and two RBI. Mark Hewitt was 1-4 with three RBI. Chase Birdwell had a double and was 2-3 with two runs and an RBI. Greg Casebier was 1-3 with a double, a run, and a RBI.

Trevecca had five hits and an error while AUM had 17 hits and an error.

Trevecca will host #8 Campbellsville University (2-1) on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
