NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca (6-5), receiving votes for the preseason NAIA Baseball Top 25, Bethel (0-3) of Indiana.

Trevecca took the third and final game in the weekend series with Bethel College. Trevecca scored two runs in the first and another in the second to lead 3-0. The Pilots scored three in the third to tie the game, but Trevecca would score six more runs for the 9-3 win. Trevecca regained the lead with a run in the fourth, another in the sixth and two runs in the seventh and eighth. Blake Payton (1-1) came on in relief of starter Jerry Young and pitched the final six innings for the win. Payton allowed just one hit and three walks while collecting four strike outs. .

Trevecca was led by Chase Birdwell with a 3-4 performance with a pair of steals, a run, and a RBI. Trey Morrison continued to carry a strong stick. Morrison had a triple and was 2-5 with a run scored and two RBI.Trae Weiss was 2-4 with a stolen base, a run scored and two RBI.

Trevecca will visit No. 11 Tennessee Wesleyan (8-3) on Tuesday for a 1 p.m. game and then host St. Catherine (2-3) for a game on Wednesday at 2  p.m.
