NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca (7-5), receiving votes for the preseason NAIA Baseball Top 25, defeated St. Catherine (6-5-1) 14-3 Wednesday. Trevecca's won seven of their last eight games.

Trevecca had five extra base hits. Zack Sutton and Edwin Borbon each had a double. Trey Morrison hit a triple and Chad Reynolds had two triples. Trevecca had nine hits and were walked 11 times by Patriot pitchers. Zack Sutton was 2-2 with the double, two runs, and three RBI. Chad Reynolds was 2-3 with the two triples, a run scored and four RBI.

Caleb Longshore (2-0) started and picked up the win for the Trojans. The junior pitched five innings and allowed five hits, a walk, and a run while sitting down three Patriots. Kyle Pfirrman and Michael Son took the mound in the sixth and seventh respectively.

Trevecca scored five in the first inning and two in the third before St. Catherine scored a run in the top of the fourth. Trevecca put the game away with six runs in the fourth and another run in the fifth. St. Catherine added two runs in the sixth.

Trevecca will open its weekend series with Pikeville College (1-6) on Friday at 2 p.m. The two teams will play at double-header starting at Noon on Saturday.
