NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca Lady Trojan softball team (10-0) smacked seven more home runs in a doubleheader sweep of Covenant College (0-10), taking the first game 10-2 and the second game 7-0 Saturday in Lookout Mountain, Ga.

Anais Puertas and Breanna Zeis hit home runs in both games, and Kelsey Lantrip, Monica West and Megan Hemmingsen also added round-trippers of their own as the Trojans completed a four-game season sweep of the Scots. Riley Mashburn and Lauren Baker continued their early-season dominance in the circle, each gaining their fifth win of the young season.

The Trojans banged out 13 hits in the opener, with Lantrip, Puertas, Zeis and Baker getting two hits apiece.  Lantrip, Puertas, West and Zeis each smashed home runs, as the Trojans scored five runs in the 7th inning to break open a close game. Riley Mashburn (5-0) went the distance, giving up two earned runs on seven hits and striking out nine, while walking just two batters.  

In game two, the Trojan offense had 14 hits to support a strong pitching performance by Lauren Baker.  Melinda Patterson went 3-3, while Lantrip, West, and Baker added two hits apiece. The Trojans got solo home runs from Puertas and Hemmingsen, and Breanna Zeis smacked a 3-run shot in the 5th inning.  Baker (5-0) gave up just 3 hits in seven innings of work, striking out 13 while not walking a single batter.  

The Trojans return home on Monday to host a doubleheader with Lambuth University (3-6).  The first game gets underway at 4 p.m.
