BABSON PARK, Fla. - Trevecca (10-5), receiving votes for the preseason NAIA Baseball Top 25, started their 2010 Spring Break winning their 11th game in the last 12 outings. Trevecca defeated Webber International (12-8) 9-6.

Each team scored a run in the first inning, but Trevecca jumped out to a 5-1 lead with two runs in the second and third innings. Webber cut the Trojan lead to just one run (5-4) with three in their half of the fourth inning. Trevecca scored a run in the fifth, but WIU scored two in bottom of the fifth for a 6-6 tie. Trevecca scored the games final three runs in the seventh for a 9-6 win.

Codi Webb (1-0) pitched the fifth and sixth innings to pick up the win. Jerry Young picked up the save (1), allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out three over the final three innings. Blake Payton started the game and pitched four innings.

Edwin Borbon was 4-6 wtih three RBI, two runs scored, a double, and a two stolen bases. Chris Hale was 3-3 with three runs scored and a walk. Chase Birdwell was 3-4 with a run scored, and two RBI.

Trevecca had 16 hits and committed four errors while WIU had 13 hits and two errors.

TNU will play the first of four games with No. 7 Embry-Riddle (16-5) at 4 p.m. on Thursday. On Friday Trevecca will play Embry-Riddle in a double header starting at 4 p.m. and complete the series on saturday the 13th at 11 a.m.

The next home game will be on Tuesday, March 17 when No. 11 Tennessee Wesleyan (14-3) at 2 p.m.
