CHAPEL HILL, Tenn. - The Trevecca men's golf team played the first round of the Trevecca Nazarene/Martin Methodist Challenge on Thursday.

The RedHawks topped the Trojans in the first day of the Trevecca Nazarene/Martin Methodist Challenge at Henry  Horton State Park in Chapel Hill, Tenn. The course played to a par of 72 over 7,060 yards.

Trevecca finished seven strokes behind Martin over the top four scorers for each team. Trevecca combined for a 313 while Martin's top four finished with a combined 306.

RedHawk Logan Pressnell had the low round of the day with a two over 74. Trojan Joey Bradley tied with MMC's Blake Moore for second at 75.

The other Trojan scorers were David Saldana (78), Grant Moffett (79), Skip Jones (81), Rece Martin (82), William Potts (85), Josh Fields (93).

The other RedHawk participants were Andy Beckham (77), Matt Holland (80), Will Walker (89), and Tyler Freeman (98).

The teams will move the Trevecca/Martin Methodist Challenge to Pickwick Landing State Park on Friday for the final round 18 in the 36-hole Stroke Play Match.

The Trojans will host the Trevecca Spring Invitational at Old Hickory C.C. in Old Hickory, Tenn. on March 22-23. The team is looking for volunteers to help with the operation of the tournament.
