GULF SHORES, Ala. - The Trevecca Trojan softball team (15-0) continued its winning ways Saturday morning with a 9-0, 5-inning victory over Montreat College (11-11). The Trojans are now 3-0 in round-robin play at the Gulf Coast (Ala.) Invitational.
Anais Puertas continued her hot bat, with three more hits, a stolen base and a run scored. Karli Rush went 2-3 with two runs batted in, three runs scored, and a stolen base, Brooke Brennan went 2-3 with an RBI and two stolen bases, and Megan Hemmingsen had a 3-run double.
Riley Mashburn (8-0) pitched a shutout to get the victory, allowing just four hits while striking out three.
Trevecca will play two more games Saturday, taking on NAIA #6 William Carey University at 3 p.m. and NAIA #RV Belhaven University at 7 p.m. The Trojans return home on Monday for a doubleheader with the University of Rio Grande that gets underway at 3 p.m.
