GULF SHORES, Ala. - The Trevecca Trojan softball team (15-2) suffered their second consecutive loss Saturday night, wrapping up play in the Gulf Coast (Ala.) Invitational with an 8-1 loss to #RV Belhaven University (20-3).

The Blazers jumped on top 3-0 in the top of the first inning, and never looked back.  The only offense the
Trojans could manage off Belhaven starter Sarah Burns was an RBI single off the bat of Megan Hemmingsen in the seventh inning. Burns (10-1) went the distance to get the win for the Blazers, giving up just six hits with 10 strikeouts and just one walk. Riley Mashburn (8-1) suffered her first loss of the season, allowing eight runs on 11 hits, walking three and striking out six.

The Trojans return home on Monday for a doubleheader with the University of Rio Grande (4-2) that gets
underway at 3 p.m.
