ROME, Ga. - The Trevecca women's golf team finished
ninth of 15 teams competing in the Berry College Invitational at the
Coosa Country Club in Rome, Ga. on Monday. .
There are 87 golfers competing on the 6011 yard course that is playing
to a par of 72. Ashley Birdwell topped the list of Trojans with an 84
that placed her 22nd. .
Trevecca finished with a round of 358 and are just three strokes back of
Lee University and nine back of Bethel University. Shorter College tops
the tournament with a 318.
Maegan Rice of the University of Mobile had the low round with a 73.
Shorter's Esther Gandarias and University of the Cumberland's McKinmzie
Price are two shots back at 75.
The other Trojan participants are Betsy Beaver in 35th with a 89, Alyssa
Moe in 41st with a 91 while Whitney Phillips (94) and Maddie Privott
(96) rounded out the team.
The teams will return to the course on Tuesday for the final round of
play.
Trevecca is set to play in the Savannah
College of Arts and Design Spring Invitational at Wilmington Island Club
in Savannah, Ga.
