KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2009-2010 Division I Women's Basketball All-America teams.
Trevecca's Abby Lawson and K.C. Van Atta were selected to this year's team. Lawson, a senior from Cheatham County High School, was selected to the third team and Van Atta, a junior from Mt. Juliet High School, was named Honorable Mention.
Lawson finished her career as Trevecca's all-time steals leader, finishing with 277. This season, she averaged 11.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game. For her career, she finished with 1,679 points, 633 rebounds, 354 assists, 277 steals, 162 blocks, and 134 games played.
Van Atta became Trevecca's career leader in three-point shots made and attempted this season. On the year, she averaged 12.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and made 66 three-pointers. For her career, Van Atta has attempted 609 three-pointers, making 209 (34.3%). She has 1,181 career points, along with 366 rebounds, 135 assists, and 94 blocks, which rank her fourth on the Trojans' all-time list.
The players were selected by the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Association All-America Committee.
