CLIFTON, Tenn. - The Trevecca men's golf team participated in the first round of the Union University Invitational at the Ross Creek Golf Course on Monday. There course played to a par of 72 over 7131 yards. There are seven teams and 42 golfers participating.
Trevecca's David Saldana, a sophomore from Clarksville, Tenn., leads the first round with a one-under 71. The former Rossview High School standout shot a 35-36 for a 71. Andy Beckham of Martin Methodist College and Mills Hamaguchi of Union are one stroke back at 72.
As a team Trevecca, with a combined 303, is five strokes behind tournament leader Union who posted a 298. Martin Methodist (300) and Lambuth (302) are just ahead of the Trojans in second and third respectively. Cumberland University is fifth at 307 and Bethel University is sixth at 319.
The rest of the Trojan results include Joey Bradley and Grant Moffett each at 77. Skip Jones (78) and William Potts (81) also participated for the Trojans.
