CLIFTON, Tenn. - The Trevecca men's golf team participated in the second round and final round of the Union University Invitational at the Ross Creek Golf Course on Saturday. The course played to a par of 72 over 7131 yards. There were seven teams and 42 golfers participating.
Trevecca's David Saldana, of Rossview High School in Clarksville, Tenn., lost in a playoff after finishing the tournament tied for first. Saldana, a sophomore, carded a one-under (71-72) 143. Andy Beckham, of Martin Methodist, shot an identical (72-71) 143 and won the playoff for the Medalist honors.
Union won the team competition with a (298-301) 599 and were followed by Lambuth University (302-302) 604, Cumberland University (307-303) 610, Trevecca (303-311) 614, Martin Methodist (300-316) 616, and Bethel University (319-309) 628.
The rest of the Trojan particpants were Joe Bradley (77-75) 152, Skip Jones (78-83) 161, William Potts (81-81) 162, and Grant Moffett (77-86) 163.
