PICKWICK DAM, Tenn. - The Trevecca women's golf team posted a first round 347 at the 2010 TranSouth Women's Golf Championships. The Trojans, the five-time defending champion, will start the second round on Tuesday five strokes behind tournament leader Bethel University. the Wildcats topped the standings with a 342.

The tournament is being played at the Pickwick Landing State Park Golf Course. The Tennessee Trails course is playing to a par of 72 over 5814 yards. There are four teams and 22 golfers competing in the women's tournament.

Lyon College is third at 379 and Martin Methodist carded a 381. Cumberland University has three individuals participating.  

Senior Betsy Beaver turned in the low round for the Trojan contingent individually. Beaver, who was the TranSouth Medalist as a freshman, is tied for third oveall with an 83. Allyson Agee of Cumberland University had the low first round score overall with an 81.  

Individually Baillie Johnson of Bethel is second with a 82. Tied with Betsy Beaver is Emily Muse of Bethel at 83. K.C. McGinley of Cumberland and Kelsey Thweatt of Martin Methodist are tied for fifth at 84.

The other four Trojans are tied for seventh with an 88. Defending Champion Ashley Birdwell along with Alyssa Moe, Whitney Phillips, and Moaddie Priovott all carded an 88.

The teams will play the second and final round of 18-holes on Tuesday morning.
