2010 Men's Golf Season Preview

As we enter the 10th season for Trevecca Trojans men's golf, this is the most anticipated season in school history.

After breaking several records last year, including single-season scoring average (313), lowest 18-hole round (1 over par 289), and lowest individual scoring average (Joey Bradley, 76.2), this program looks to continue the success of last season.

Returning eight out of nine players from last year's team helps. "Although we may still look like a young team on paper," states Coach Wilson, "we had a lot of young players get competitive playing time last year."

"Leading the first round of the conference tournament with three freshmen in the line-up, says a lot about where we plan to be at the end of this season."

The 2009-10 Trojans will be led on the course by sophomore Joey Bradley. Bradley earned TranSouth Freshmen of the year honors as well as being named to the All-Conference team on the heels of his Top-4 finish at the 2009 Conference Championships.

Senior Josh Fields enters his last year of eligibility. Field's ability and the things he contributes to this program don't always show up on paper. "He is very competitive and his eagerness to contribute to this program was evident in his practice over the summer," says Coach Wilson.

Junior's Grant Moffett, Bobby Humburg, and Rece Martin add experience and a wealth of talent. Grant and Bobby have combined to play in 55 tournament rounds during their collegiate career and Rece Martin looks to have a break-out season this year.

Sophomore's David Saldana, Skip Jones, and William Potts look to anchor out the roster and will be counted on numerous times throughout the year to contribute.

Coach Robbie Wilson enters his fourth season at the helm of the program after playing collegiately for the Trojans.

Wilson believes that this year's squad is the most talented in a quite a while. "From top to bottom, this team has the most depth and experience of any Trojan team I have been part of, playing or coaching, at Trevecca."

"I will be surprised if we don't see several different starting line-ups this fall and spring. Qualifying for the tournaments will be tough as ever and only contributes to our preparation for tournament play."
