NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The 2007-2008 Trojans continued to hold a firm grip on the top spot in the TranSouth Conference, posting their second consecutive 50-win season and reaching the NAIA National Tournament for the third straight year. The Trojans earned their fourth consecutive TranSouth regular season title, and third straight TranSouth and NAIA Region-XI Tournament Championships.

The Trojans again roared out of the gate, racking up 14 consecutive victories to open the campaign, including double-header sweeps of Savannah State (NCAA D-I) and Armstrong Atlantic (NCAA D-II) and a stretch of five consecutive wins by the eight-run mercy rule.

During the season the Trojans had win streaks of 9, 10, 13, and 14 games, posting a 43-5 regular season record, including victories in 32 of 34 conference games. The team rolled through the TranSouth Tournament, posting a perfect 4-0 record and outscoring opponents 22-6, then suffered a slight hiccup in the regional tournament, winning three of four games, including two of three from the Martin Methodist RedHawks.

The Trojans posted single-season records in stolen bases (187) and stolen-base attempts (207) offensively, and in earned run average (1.43). Stephanie Fisher set an NAIA record for career relief appearances (66), Brittiany Johnson set single season marks in ERA (0.74) and doubles (23), and Kacey Coonce set the season record for batting average (.463). Chelsea Bailey set Trevecca career records for stolen bases (118), stolen base attempts (135), and runs scored (185); and Johnson set career marks for wins (116), innings pitched (838 1/3),  strikeouts (1186), complete games (78), and appearances (158).

Johnson headlined the senior class, wrapping up what will go down as one of the best careers in NAIA history, both on the mound and at the plate. Ashley Camp and Nicki Levering also posted solid seasons in their senior campaigns, with Camp hitting .312 at first base, and Levering anchoring the Trojan defense behind the plate.

Team members won several individual recognitions: Brittiany Johnson was voted a first team All-American, and Kacey Coonce received second team honors. All-Region-XI honors were presented to Johnson, Coonce, and Chelsea Bailey. Ashley Camp, Megan Suggs, and Karli Rush joined Bailey, Johnson, and Coonce on the All-TranSouth Teams.
