NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca volleyball coach Jayme Crowley has added
another player to her roster for the Fall of 2009. Haley White of
Arlington, Texas will suit up for the Trojans in the coming season. The
2009 Trojans now have 14 players on their roster.
The 5'4"
Libero is transferring from North Lake College (Texas) where she was
named second team all-conference as a freshman and was No. 23 in the
nation in digs. She will be pursuing a degree in elementary education
at Trevecca.
In commenting on the latest addition to her first
full recruiting class, Crowley said, "We have worked long and hard to
get Haley to become a student-athlete at Trevecca. The commitment on
both ends has paid off and we are pleased Haley will be joining our
program for the fall season."
"Haley comes to TNU after a year
at North Lake College in Texas. The first thing I noticed about Haley
was her gift of defensive reading and her ability to dig every ball hit
in her vicinity. In addition to her defensive prowess, she is a fine
Christian role model and has the personality needed to be a tremendous
asset at the Libero/DS position."
"Haley comes from a family
of gifted athletes and we expect her to continue the family legacy. We
are excited for her to be able to utilize her talents to help us
achieve success."
White, the daughter of Craig and Julie
White, graduated from Grace Prepatory (Arlington, Texas) Academy in
2008 where she was a three-sport (basketball, volleyball, track)
athlete. She has been active in her community and church with
participation in mission work locally and in Mexico. She also served in
GPA's Fellowship of Christian Athletes club and served as an officer
for one year.
As a high school volleyball player she was
recognized with All-State Tournament Team and All-District Second Team
as a junior when her team made the State Finals. As a senior, she was
named All-District First Team and All-State Second Team.
Crowley's
new recruits for the Fall of 2009 are White, Maddie Burford (Franklin,
Tenn. - Centennial), Teegan Hunziker (Milford, Iowa - Iowa Lakes CC),
Casey Kania (Columbia, S.C. - Lippen HS), Cortney Keagle (Oakwood, Ill.
- Danville CC), and Cassidy Watkins (Tucson, Ariz. - Mountain View HS).
