NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca softball coach Ben Tyree has signed Brooke Brennan of Davidson Academy (Nashville, Tenn.) to play for the Trojans beginning with the 2009-2010 school year.

 
The Bears won the 2008 and 2009 TSSAA Division II-AA State Championship. Brennan, coached by Stacey Swinea at Davidson Academy and Brian Drake with the TN Explozion Gold travel team, played second base for the DA Bears over the last four seasons.

Trevecca softball coach Ben Tyree says his program is getting another player with a tradition of winning, "We are so excited to have Brooke in our program at Trevecca. She is one of those student-athletes you love to be around and makes everyone around her better. She comes from a great background with consecutive  State Championships. Brooke will have a positive impact on our team, both on and off the field."

Brennan was selected as All-Region (2009, 2008, 2007) over the last three years and was named All-State in 2008.

In 2008 the second baseman led DA statistically in doubles (15) and RBI's (33) while producing a .385 batting average, 45 runs scored, and 16 stolen bases.

Brennan is the daughter of Kevin and Mindy Brennan, Kevin is a former Trojan baseball player. 

Brennan joins 13 former players from Davidson Academy who have committed to play college softball. One of those former players (Hollie Shane) went on to play for Trevecca as well. Also, former DA softball standout Amy Hutchins played basketball at Trevecca.
