NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca Nazarene University baseball coach Jonathan Burton has signed Codi Webb for the 2009-2010 season.
Webb, a 5'8" right-handed pitcher from College Grove, Tenn., played his high school baseball at Page High School for former Trojan outfielder Nathan Brown. In 2008, Webb posted a 6-3 record, with a 1.88 ERA in 52.2 innings pitched. He fanned 56 hitters on the season, while issuing just 19 free passes. His awards including being named to the All-District 10-AA team and earning the Golden Arm Award and the 10-AA Big Stick Award.
Coach Burton said of Codi, "To sign a player with Codi's potential this early is very exciting for us. He commands the zone with three pitches and is very efficient with his pitch selection. We expect that Codi will make an immediate impact for us as a freshman, and very excited about seeing what he can do for four years."
