NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball coach Gary Van Atta has added another recruit to his 2009-2010 roster. It is Metro Christian Academy's Rachel Raby.

The 6'2" post player is averaging 18.7 points and 13.1 rebounds per game this season. As a junior she averaged 20.4 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.

Gary Van Atta says, "Rachel is going to be another great addition to our campus. On the court she will provide instant size and rebounding. She has been a varsity player since her seventh grade season and that experience will help her in the transition to the college game."

Raby started playing for the varsity team as a seventh grader and has won numerous All-Tournament awards during her career. She was named All-State by the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools (TACS) as a junior. She has been named TACS All-State twice in volleyball. She was named the TACS State Tournament MVP the last two years.

Raby has already become the Metro Christian career leader in points (1,800) and rebounds (1,200).

Raby joins Annissa Ragland (6'0" McGavock HS), London Elie (6'2" Lebanon HS), Destiny Dishman (6'0" Stone Memorial HS), and Lauren Wasson (5'9" Wilson Central HS) to round out the Trojans recruiting class for 2009-2010.
