Lauren Wasson - 2009-10 Women's Basketball Recruit
GLADEVILLE, Tenn. - (Courtesy Tommy Bryan Wilson Post) Trevecca Nazarene University women's basketball coach Gary Van Atta added Wilson Central Hight School Lady Wildcat guard Lauren Wasson to his 2009-2010 signing class.
Wasson averaged roughly six points and 4.6 rebound per game as a junior. Her high point game was a 14 point effort vs. District 9AAA rival Hendersonville.
She caught the eye of college coaches with an outstanding run over the summer with the Tennessee Elite AAU program.
"Lauren
is an incredible defensive player and will fit in immediately with our
program," says Trevecca coach Gary Van Atta. "She comes from a great
program and is accustomed to playing in big games and we can't wait to
have her playing in front of the Moore Maniacs."
Trevecca is presently ranked No. 3 in the NAIA with a 10-0 record. Last season the Trojans finished 23-12 overall and placed second in the NAIA National Tournament.
Wasson along with Jessyca Christopher a University of Huntsville signee and University of Georgia signee Jasmine Hassell are all Wilson Central players committed for the fall of 2009. Wilson Central is the defending Tennessee AAA State Champion.Wasson joins Stone Memorial's (Crossville, Tenn.) Destiny Dishman and London Elie (Lebanon, Tenn. - red shirting) in the Trojans freshmen class for the Fall of 2009.
