NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca Nazarene University softball coach Ben Tyree is pleased to announce the signing of Kelsey Lantrip of Kimberly Ala.

Lantrip - a sophomore infielder at Central Alabama Community College - was named an all-conference performer for the 2008 season at CACC, hitting .385 in her freshman campaign. She played her high school softball at Mortimer Jordan High School, where she was an all-state performer her junior and senior seasons. She was named to the all-conference team in high school while playing on five consecutive state tournament teams. Off the field, she graduated high school seventh in her class, she was a member of the National Honor Society, and she was selected for Girls' State.

"Kelsey is the kind of player that we want here at Trevecca," said Tyree. "She understands her role as a player and student athlete while representing herself as a good teammate. She is excited to be here and we can't wait. We are expecting Kelsey to continue to develop and become an outstanding leader and contributor to this team."
