Zach Sutton - 2010 Baseball Recruit

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca head baseball coach Jonathan Burton welcomes the transfer of former Olivet Nazarene standout catcher Zach Sutton.
 
Sutton, a 6'2 sophomore from Independence, Mo., hit .400 as a senior at Fort Osagh High School and was named All-Conference, All-Area, and All-District as a catcher. Fort Osagh won the District title in three out of his four years with an overall four-year record of 202-38. Sutton was twice-voted to the Kansas City Legion All Star game. As a freshman (2008) at Olivet Nazarene he produced a .324 batting average.

Sutton attended NCAA Division II Central Missouri State last season, but red-shirted.

"Zach is a big boost for us behind the plate," said Burton. "He is the type of kid that works extremely hard in everything he does. His work ethic and drive will help all the catchers around him become better players. We feel very fortunate to have his leadership and toughness to handle our pitching staff."
